If you have met Anthony, you have met a friend. From across the room, you are greeted with a smiled and, if you are lucky, you will get to witness his sweet dance moves, too.

In high school, Anthony attended a program that is still led here at Workshops Empowerment Inc., by a Birmingham City School teacher. During his high school years, he took part in our program which provides transitional services to students with disabilities including hands-on work experience.

Today, Anthony works alongside not only his production co-workers, but also the students that are in the same school/work program he attended more than 25 years ago.

Anthony takes pride in helping others, not for the recognition, but because he knows it is the right thing to do. He has a keen eye for knowing when co-workers need more inventory moved closer in so they can continue to be productive. He never stops. He is always listening, learning, and laughing.

We are so proud of this huge milestone of 25 years of employment at WE Inc. We can only hope that we’ve poured into him as much as he delivers everyday to others.

We asked Anthony’s mom what WE Inc. has meant to Anthony and his family: “It’s meant everything. It’s the best thing that has ever happened to Anthony.”

Anthony is quick to tell you that his favorite things to do are draw and make TikTok videos. His mom said, “I have no clue where he got his dance abilities from because I can’t dance a lick!”.
